Pitt Women’s Soccer Welcomes No. 22 Duke to Ambrose Urbanic Field

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's soccer team (9-2-1, 2-1-1 ACC) is set to host the No. 22 Duke Blue Devils (5-3-2, 1-1-2 ACC) on Thursday, Oct. 5. This ACC Matchup is slated for 7 PM and will be streamed live on the ACC Network Extra.

THE SERIES
- Thursday evening's contest will be the eighth meeting between the two programs.
- Duke currently holds a 7-0 edge to the Panthers having posted 22 goals to our four.
- The Panthers are looking to secure their first win against the Blue Devils on Thursday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
- Junior Dievnaba Ndaw collected her first collegiate goal against Virginia on Sunday afternoon.
- The Duke Blue Devils completed Sunday's contest against Virginia with a 1-1 draw.
- The Blue Devils posted nine shots, two shots on goal, two saves and one corner kick against the Cavaliers.
- Duke has posted 12 goals, 14 assists and 21 saves on the season thus far.
RECAPPING SATURDAY'S SHUTOUT
- The University of Pittsburgh women's soccer team defeated Boston at Ambrose Urbanic Field on Saturday night with a 2-0 shutout.
- Just in the fifth minute, Sarah Schupansky put Pitt on the board first, posting a goal in the bottom right corner of the net off of Deborah Abiodun's assist.
- In the 57th minute, Amanda West fended off multiple Boston College defenders to find Ellie Coffield open behind her. Coffield then launched a beautiful shot in the top right corner of the net to secure the second goal for the Panthers.
- The back line continued to defend the goal for Pitt for the remainder of the final 45, leaving the Eagles scoreless.
- Pitt held an overall 62% of the possession tonight, not leaving room for the Eagles to have any opportunities. The Panthers also held the edge in shots (23-5), shots on goal (18-2), and corner kicks (8-3).

- The Panthers are currently ranked first in the nation for corner kicks per game (9.17), second in the nation and first in the ACC for shots on goal per game (10.83), and fourth in the nation and first in the ACC for shot per game (21.08).
- Amanda West is ranked first in the ACC for shots per game (4.08), first for shots on goal per game (2.33), third for total goals (6), and third for shot accuracy (0.571).
- Sarah Schupanksy is ranked first in the ACC for total goals (8), first for totoal points (21), second for goals per game (0.67), and second for points per game (1.75).
