
No. 20 Panthers Host Virginia Tech in Final Game of the Regular Season

PITTSBURGH – The No. 20 Pitt women's soccer team (12-4-1, 5-2-1 ACC) is set to host the Virginia Tech Hokies (7-7-3, 4-5-0 ACC) on Thursday, Oct. 26 at Ambrose Urbanic Field in the final game of the regular season contest. This ACC matchup is set to kick off at 7 PM and will be aired live on the ACC Network Extra.
The Pitt Band will be in attendance for the game, so seating in the bleachers will be limited. Fans who perfer to sit in the bleachers are encouraged to show up early to secure their seats. Gates open at 6 PM. Free Pitt travel mugs will be given out to fans while supplies last.

THE SERIES
- This will be the 10th overall meeting between the Panthers and the Hokies with Virginia Tech holding the 7-1-1 edge on Pitt.
- Last time out, Pitt posted four goals to Virginia Tech's one – securing their first win against the Hokies in program history.
- The Panthers are looking to continue the momentum from the last matchup against the Hokies and secure their first home win against Virginia Tech in program history.
SCOUTING THE HOOKIES
- Virginia Tech posted a 3-0 shutout win against Miami on Sunday afternoon.
- Natalie Mitchell posted her eighth goal of the season in the 13th minute of play against the Hurricanes – securing the only goal of the first 45 minute of play.
- Junior Sophie Maltese secured two goals on the afternoon – posting her first goal on the season.
- The Hokies outshot the Hurricanes 12-1 in Sunday afternoon's game.
RECAPPING SUNDAY'S ACC MATCHUP
- The Panthers fell to the No. 8 Clemson Tigers, 1-0, at Historic Riggs Field, Sunday afternoon.
- Pitt put up two shots in the first half with one on goal. Amanda West placed her name on both of those scoring opportunities.
- Clemson was able to find an opening in the back line and place their only goal on the afternoon in the 53rd minute of play.
- Pitt found their momentum and continued to hold the majority of possession in the second half – creating a number of scoring opportunities. In the 67th minute, Schupanksy launched a ball from behind the box, forcing a save by Clemson's goalkeeper.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Ellie Breech posted seven saves on the afternoon – tying her career high record.
- Pitt had eight shots, five shots on goal, seven saves and 10 corners on the afternoon.
