
Three Women’s Soccer Players Named to Top Drawer Soccer National Top-100 Midseason List

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's soccer team had three student-athletes named to the annual Top Drawer Soccer Women's National Top 100 Midseason list, as announced by the organization.
Defender Ashton Gordon secured No. 41 on this with forward Sarah Schupansky not far behind at No. 43. Forward Samiah Phiri also landed on the list at No. 80.
So far this season, Gordon has started in all 15 games played – totaling 1209 minutes. The defender has totaled six points thus far after posting two goals and two assists on the season. In the home matchup against Bowling Green, Gordon secured one goal and one assist to total three points on the game. The defender continues to remain a calming presence in the backline, always there to reset the team.
Junior Schpansky found herself at No. 43 on the Top-100 list after totaling 877 minutes played in the 15 games so far. The forward has completed ten goals on the season with nine assists – totaling 29 points. The Pittsburgh, PA native has secured three game winning goals against Bowling Green, Boston College and Wake Forest. Currently, Schupansky is ranked in the top ten in the ACC for assists per game (.60), game-winning goals (3), points per game (1.93), shot accuracy (.542), shots per game (3.20), shots on goal per game (1.73), total assists (9), total goals (10), and total points (29).
Forward Phiri also secured a spot on the Top-100 list after starting in 12 out of the 15 games played this season – totaling 906 minutes played. The junior currently has three game-winning goals to her name against Drexel, Bucknell and Cincinnati. The Irving, TX native totals 19 points on the season after completing eight goals and three assists. Phiri was able to complete one of two goals against Duke to help secure the first win in program history against the Blue Devils.
