Panthers Head to North Carolina for Tri-Meet

PITTSBURGH —The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (3-3, 0-0 EAGL) will travel to Raleigh, NC for a tri-meet against North Carolina State and George Washington at the Reynolds Coliseum on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 4:00 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT

Pitt (3-3, 0-0 EAGL) fell to Cal, Iowa, and Oregon State at the Wasatch Classic quad meet Saturday night at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, UT.
Sophomore Hallie Copperwheat completed the evening with strong routines on floor (9.875) and bars (9.800) en route to an all-around score of 39.150.
Senior Nay'yarrah Winder started the first rotation off strong with a 9.800 – matching her career-high score on floor.
Freshman Natalia Pawlak earned the highest bars score of the evening for the Panthers – with a career-high 9.825.

SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK

On Saturday, NC State fell to nationally ranked Michigan State who earned a 196.400.
The Wolfpack earned their highest rotation score of the night on floor (49.200) – with two scores of at least 9.900.
During their meet against Michigan State, NC State scored their highest mark for a home opener in their program history – 196.375.
This will be the 55th meeting between NC State and Pitt, with the Wolfpack holding an 11-44 winning streak.

SCOUTING THE COLONIALS

At the Lindsey Ferris Invitational, GW finished second behind Nebraska with Cornell and William & Mary claiming third and fourth, respectively.
The Colonials posted their highest season-opening score at Sunday's meet – earning a 195.300.
Junior Kendall Whitman claimed the first-place title on floor with her score of 9.925.
This will be the 39th time in program history the Panthers and the Colonials compete, with the Colonials holding a 19-20 close edge.
