PITTSBURGH- The University of Pittsburgh men's and women's cross country squads will compete in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Sept.30 at the University of Notre Dame Burke Golf Course in South Bend, Ind. The Pitt men will compete in the Blue race at 11:15 a.m., while the women will compete in the Gold race at 1:30 p.m.
"This weekend the men and women will see some competition from ACC teams as well as teams from the Mid-Atlantic Region," said head coach Brad Herbster.
The Pitt men's lineup will include Jack Miller, Luke Miller, Quintin Gatons, Sam Otis, Finn Walsh, Peyton Geehrer, Luke Henseler, Damian Frausto, Trey Gannon.
"The guys are fit and ready to race at a high level," stated Herbster. "We learned from Virginia and have had two weeks to improve in some areas and are looking forward to racing at Notre Dame. The race is on a course the team is familiar with as we saw it last year twice, including the ACC Championships."
The Pitt women's lineup will be Caroline Rusinski, Ellen Baker, Emily Brown, Winnie Incorvaia, Sadie Carey-Tharp, Reagan Flannery, Gianna Cagliola, and Anna Cohen.
"The women had a solid showing last time on the course keeping the gap closed," continued Herbster. "They are in a race that they can finish toward the front and race fast as a group. The women have looked strong over the past two weeks, and I am excited to see them get into the race and perform as a strong unit."
