PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's soccer program will have two representatives competing in the upcoming Canada Soccer Women's National Team Program U-20 camp set to take place in Markham, Ontario. The camp is set to be held July 6-10 as announced last week.
Rising junior Chloe Minas and incoming sophomore transfer Keera Melenhorst have been tabbed to participate in the camp that features the best female soccer players in Canada under the age of 20. The camp marks the final preparations for Team Canada ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica from August 10-28.
Minas has been a key midfielder for the Panthers across her career as she has started in all 34 career games while posting five assists. She enjoyed the best season of her career as a sophomore as she started all 18 games while netting three assists across 1,292 minutes.
Melenhorst, a product of Ottawa, Ontario, was a staple in Oklahoma's lineup as a freshman in 2021, playing in all 20 of the Sooners games and starting 16 matches. She registered two assists and 13 shots, putting five shots on goal. The talented midfielder tallied 1,152 minutes played.
Both Minas and Melenhorst have previously represented their home country of Canada.
