Compson, Drogemuller Named to All-ACC Academic Team

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt softball team earned two All-ACC Academic recipients today in sophomore outfielder Cami Compson and redshirt freshman pitcher Dani Drogemuller.
The conference academic honors are the first for both players.
A marketing major, Drogemuller finished the season sixth in the ACC in strikeouts with 147. She totaled an 8-13 record with a 3.51 ERA, two complete games, a shutout and a save. The Frankfort, Ill., native tallied 14 games with seven or more strikeouts and four games with 10 or more, including a career-high 12 at USC Upstate. She became the third pitcher at Pitt since 2014 to record 100+ strikeouts in a season and finished just shy of fifth on the single-season strikeout list. Drogemuller earned a 3.38 GPA during the spring semester.
Compson is currently earning a degree in supply chain management and marketing and concluded the spring semester with a 3.53 GPA. The centerfielder finished third on the squad with a .274 batting average, totaling 32 hits, 20 runs, 12 walks and 22 RBI. She hit a team-best seven homers, totaling 18 in her two years so far. The Westerville, Ohio, native led the team in slugging percentage (.496) and was third in on-base percentage (.348).
This marks the sixth and seventh All-ACC Academic honorees under head coach Jodi Hermanek.
