Jeffrey Wehler led off the ninth with a single up the middle. After Tatem Levins walked, both advanced on a groundout by Ron Washington, Jr. to set up Hulett's heroics.
Pitt got the board first in the third inning. Brock Franks smacked a leadoff double off the right field wall and advanced to third base on a sac bunt from Dom Popa. Wehler followed with a monster two-run homer over the seats in left field.

The Panthers tied it up in the eighth inning. Leadoff batter Washington, Jr. reached on catcher's interference, and Hulett followed with a single through the right side.
