Pitt Falls 8-1 at No. 8 Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Pitt baseball (26-22, 12-13) fell 8-1 to No. 8 Notre Dame (31-10, 15-8) Saturday evening at Frank Eck Stadium.
The Irish grabbed the lead on a pair of RBI-hits in the second inning.
The Panthers got on the board in the next frame. Jordan Anderson led off with a walk and went to third base on a single to left center from Jeffrey Wehler. With one out, Wehler stole second base, and Anderson went home on an errant throw that went into shallow centerfield.
Notre Dame added to its lead in the fifth inning on another pair of RBI-hits and a sacrifice fly. RBI-hits in the sixth and seventh and sacrifice fly in the eighth would follow.
The series finale is Sunday at noon on the ACC Network.
