MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Pitt baseball (26-20) fell 9-1 to West Virginia (29-18) Tuesday night at Wagener Field at Monongalia County Ballpark.
The Mountaineers grabbed their lead with a pair of RBI-hits in the first inning and doubled their lead with a three-run homer in the fourth inning.
Pitt got on the board with a one-out solo homer to right field from Ron Washington, Jr., his 13th of the year.
The Panthers return to action with a three-game series at No. 8 Notre Dame beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
