Pitt, Robert Morris Schedule Change; Panthers Host Colonials Wednesday at 6 PM

PITTSBURGH – Originally scheduled to play Robert Morris tomorrow in Moon Township at 3 p.m., the Pitt Softball team will now host the Colonials tomorrow evening at 6 p.m.

- Pitt hosts Robert Morris for a midweek contest starting at 6 PM at Vartabedian Field. The game was originally scheduled at Robert Morris at 3 PM.

- Robert Morris is currently 16-9 overall and owns a perfect 5-0 record in Horizon league play. The Colonials are 10-7 in road contests.
- The Colonials rank in the top-five in multiple categories in the Horizon league, including on-base percentage (.351/1st), scoring (5.16/1st) batting average (.259/2nd) and slugging percentage (.369/3rd). They are also third in ERA (3.85) and fourth in fielding percentage (.954).
- Alaina Koutsogiani (#43) ranks sixth in the nation with 23 stolen bases and fourth in stolen bases per game (.92). She is batting a team-high .325 with 26 hits, 4 doubles, 2 homers, 12 RBI and 11 walks.

- At the halfway point of the season, Dani Drogemuller has led the Panthers in the circle with a record of 6-6 with a 2.94 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 85.2 innings pitched.
- She has thrown eight complete games, including an eight-inning performance vs. Kansas and an eight-inning showing at USC Upstate. Drogemuller became the 10th pitcher in Pitt history to throw more than 8.0 innings in one game and the 6th pitcher to do it more than once in her career.
- The Frankfort, Ill., native was superb in the Wings ETC Classic in Spartanburg, S.C., going 2-0 with two complete-games and a shutout. She allowed only 7 hits, 2 walks and 0 earned runs while striking out 19 batters in 15.0 innings pitched.
- Against USC Upstate, Drogemuller struck out a career-high 12 batters, a number ranked T-5th in the Pitt single-game record books.
- She went toe-to-toe with All-American Kathryn Sandercock of No. 3/3 Florida State twice Mar. 4-6, going 1-1 with two complete games and 10 total strikeouts. Her complete-game effort in Sunday's 7-5 win aided Pitt to its highest-ranked victory in program history.
- Drogemuller ranks sixth in the ACC in strikeouts (92).
- Drogemuller is seeking to become the third pitcher since the Panthers joined the ACC (2013-14) to amass 100+ strikeouts in a single season. She would join Savannah King (104 - 2014) and Kayla Harris (117 - 2016).
