Five Panthers Named to EAGL All-Tournament Teams

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Five gymnasts from the University of Pittsburgh were named to the East Atlantic Gymnastic League (EAGL) All-Tournament first and second teams, Saturday, March 19, at the 2022 EAGL Championship.
To earn All-Tournament honors, competing gymnasts must finish in the top 16. The top eight are named first-team recipients, while the following eight garner second-team accolades.
Pitt had three gymnasts earn first team honors – senior Katie Chamberlain on bars (9.900) who tied for the conference runner-up title, freshman Hallie Copperwheat on bars (9.850) and the all-around (39.125) and Sidney Washington in the all-around (38.475).
In addition, Washington (9.800) and Chamberlain (9.800) received second team honors on vault, graduate student Kailey Gillings (9.825) and freshman Jordyn Ewing (9.825) were named to second team on bars, while Copperwheat earned a spot on the second team on floor (9.850)

The Panthers will find out if they qualified for regionals during the NCAA gymnastics selection show Tuesday, March 22. The NCAA Regional Championship will take place March 30-April 2.
