Wolter Earns Second Team All-American Honors At NCAA Indoor Championships

BIRMINGHAM, AL – For the second straight season, Felix Wolter earned All-American status at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships as he was able to post a 12th place finish in the heptathlon.
He earned Second Team All-American honors for his performance as he becomes the first Pitt heptathlete to earn All-American status twice. He becomes the Panthers' 43rd indoor All-American and the first two-time honoree since Carvin Nkanata and Brycen Spratling in 2014.
Wolter opened up his heptathlon with a season-best time in the 60m dash as he crossed the finish line in 7.06 seconds to take 10th place and earn 861 points. He was then able to post a fifth place finish in the long jump as he posted a leap of 23'10.75" (7.28m) to earn 881 points. He wrapped up his first day with a shot put distance of 43'1.00" (13.13m) which marked a season-best and a high jump that cleared 6'4.25" (1.94m) and earned 749 points. Wolter sat in 11th place overall after the first day with 3.166 points.
Day two started with the 60m hurdles for Wolter as he posted a 14th place finish, crossing the line in 8.34 seconds and earning 898 points. He then notched a seventh place finish in the pole vault as he cleared 15'11.25" (4.86m) to score 868 points. In the 1000m run, the final event of the day, Wolter crossed the finish line in ninth place with a time of 2:43.38 and scored 836 points.
He wrapped up the seven-event gauntlet with a score of 5,768 points which earned him 12th place overall in the talented field and Second Team All-American honors.
