PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh wrestling team is set for two challenging duals this weekend, including a rare opportunity to compete at the Petersen Events Center on campus.
The Panthers (6-4, 1-1 ACC) will face its fourth ranked opponent in less than a month when they take on No. 24 North Carolina on Friday at 7 p.m. from Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Then No. 19 Pitt will host Columbia on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center. Fans can park for free in the OC Lot and enter the Pete through Gate A. Tickets are on sale on PittsburghPanthers.com.
Both Pitt wrestling contests this weekend will be streamed on ACC Network Extra and via the ESPN app.

In Chapel Hill, head coach Keith Gavin and the Panthers aim to end a six-match losing streak vs. UNC. The Tar Heels (7-4, 2-0 ACC) also sit atop the conference standings at the moment.
Key matchups for this exciting ACC dual include ranked bouts at 133, 141, 157, 184 and 197 pounds. Pitt's 141-pounder – No. 17 Cole Matthews – is set to challenge undefeated No. 6 Kizhan Clarke, while No. 19 Elijah Cleary faces reigning NCAA champion No. 6 Austin O'Connor at 157 pounds.
Also ranked for the Panthers this week, No. 31 Gage Curry at 125, No. 7 Micky Phillippi at 133, No. 14 Jake Wentzel at 165, No. 31 Gregg Harvey at 184 and No. 7 Nino Bonaccorsi at 197 pace a Pitt lineup hoping to begin February with a bang.
The Columbia contest gives the Panthers a chance to wrestle at the Pete in a new setting, and the EIWA program will also present challenges in the form of ranked individuals at 125, 133, 141 and 165 pounds.
