
Pitt Travels to Duke for Final Dual of Season

PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh wrestling team traveled to Durham, N.C., on Thursday ahead of the Panthers' final dual of the 2021-22 season at Duke on Friday night at 7 p.m.
The matchup will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and streamed via the ESPN app live from Duke's famous Cameron Indoor Stadium on campus.
The Panthers (7-6, 1-3 ACC) will use the dual as a final chance to prepare for the upcoming postseason, which begins at the 2022 ACC Wrestling Championships on Sunday, March 6 in Charlottesville, Va.
Pitt's project lineup features six ranked wrestlers, including No. 6 Cole Matthews at 141 pounds, who owns a 10-match winning streak individually and reached his season-best ranking this week.
No. 8 Nino Bonaccorsi at 197, No. 10 Micky Phillippi at 133, No. 16 Jake Wentzel at 165, No. 19 Elijah Cleary at 157 and No. 30 Gage Curry at 125 are also ranked for the Panthers and have eyes set up advancing to the 2022 NCAA Championships next month in Detroit.
The Blue Devils (7-9, 0-4 ACC) are looking for their first conference win of the season.
Pitt owns an 8-0 all-time record against Duke in wrestling, all in the ACC. The Panthers won 31-12 last season at Fitzgerald Field House and have won both of their previous trips to Durham.
