PITTSBURGH—The No. 20 Pitt wrestling team will look to continue its impressive winning streak this weekend in the Northeast as Keith Gavin's squad face Brown and Columbia on the road.
The Panthers (3-1, 0-0 ACC) are coming off lopsided wins over Lehigh and Illinois and hope to bring back a four-dual winning streak to Pittsburgh after Friday's trip to Providence and Sunday's bout in New York.
The Pitt-Brown dual brings together Coach Gavin against his former protégé Jordan Leen, who spent the last five years as Pitt's associate coach before taking the head job at Brown this past offseason.
Pitt is 1-1 in the all-time series with the Bears but the teams haven't met since 2016, and the Panthers have won all three prior meetings with the Lions, who lost 30-5 last season in Pittsburgh.
Both duals will air on ESPN+ and can be watched with credentials via ESPN3.com and the ESPN app.
Three members of Pitt's team ranked in the top-10 individually of their respective weight classes: No. 9 Micky Phillippi at 133 pounds, No. 1 Cole Matthews at 141 and No. 3 Nino Bonaccorsi at 197.
But the Panthers have a season-high eight ranked individuals after a strong start to the campaign by Colton Camacho (No. 30 at 125) and Luca Augustine (No. 33 at 174).
Dazjon Casto (No. 21 at 157), Holden Heller (No. 17 at 165) and Reece Heller (No. 28 at 184) are also ranked for the Panthers as the trio of offseason transfers have started their Pitt careers strongly.
