Panthers 15-match road winning streak is tied for the longest in program history
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 7 Pitt (24-2, 14-0) tied a program record with its 15th straight road win on Sunday afternoon, taking down Boston College (26-24, 25-11, 18-25, 25-15). The Panthers have tied the record for the longest road winning streak, set during the 2018-19 seasons, and still hold the longest active road winning streak in Division I.
The Panthers have now won 17 matches in a row. It is the third longest winning streak in the Fisher era and the longest since the 2019 season.

The first set was comprised of long scoring runs from both teams. Pitt went in front with a 6-0 scoring run to take a 9-2 lead, only for BC to win seven of the next eight points and eventually tie the score back, 13-13. Pitt went on another 6-0 run to take a 21-16 lead, but BC was equal to the task once more, winning eight of the next 10 to earn the first set point of the day, 23-24. A BC service error tied the score again, 24-24, before Vazquez Gomez put the set away, ending a phenomenal opening set for her as the Panthers took the opener by the slimmest of margins. Vazquez Gomez was the work horse in the opening set, making 5 kills on 11 swings with four digs and a block as the Panthers escaped with a one-set advantage.
SET 2: PITT 25 – BOSTON COLLEGE 11
Once again, Pitt started the set on a run and took a 9-2 advantage. This time, the good fortune never stopped, as the Panthers blitzed BC for the entirety of the set for a dominant 14-point win. Pitt out-hit the Eagles .433 to .000, posting 15 kills to BC's eight in a one-sided set. Buzzerio led the offense with 5 kills on 10 swings while Browske dominated the back row with five digs.
SET 3: PITT 18 – BOSTON COLLEGE 25
The Boston College block came to life in the third as they posted eight blocks and four service aces to steal away the third. Vazquez Gomez made three kills on .600 hitting the BC block was too much to overcome and Pitt lost its first set in four matches.
SET 4: PITT 25 – BOSTON COLLEGE 15
The Panthers left little room for doubt in the fourth, going on a 7-1 run to go in front, 14-7, and never allowing the Eagles to get within five points, coasting to the victory. Nwokolo played a significant role in the fourth, serving for a significant portion of Pitt's long scoring run and contributing a pair of assists on some out of system balls. Pitt was bombing the ball all set, making 15 kills on 29 swings with only one unforced attacking error. Vazquez Gomez, Dalton, Buzzerio and Fairbanks each delivered at least three kills as the Panthers flexed their muscles over Boston College.
