Pitt Swimming Returns Home for Meet Against George Washington

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt men's and women's swimming team is back home to host George Washington in a non-conference match-up on Nov. 18-19 at Trees Pool.
The scores from the previous diving meet against George Washington from Nov. 11-12, will be included in the final calculated team scores at the completion of this weekend's events.

NOTES
The Pitt swimming program returns to Trees Pool after a successful double dual meet against Boston College and Georgia Tech Saturday, November 5. Overall, the women's swimming and diving team defeated Boston College, 187.5-112.5, and fell to Georgia Tech, 128-172. The men's team dominated Boston College, 230-70, and fell to Georgia Tech, 131-169.
The Pitt men's team aims to build momentum gained over the recent success in meets prior. Leading seniors Jerry Chen and Adam Mahler, along with juniors Marcin Goraj and Javier Zorzano, pace the way with strong past performances. The Panthers have multiple powerful relay teams competing in the 200-yard medley including Krzysztof Radziszewski, Cooper Van der Laan, Goraj and, Flynn Crisci, and both 400-yard medley teams including Crisci, Dominic Toledo, Guy Frimis, and Wojciech Dutkowiak, and Radziszewski, Mahler, Austin Lane and Derek Zhang.
For the women, freshmen Kate Bailey and Claire Jansen, along with junior Sophie Yendell, are off to a great start in leading the women's team to success. The women's program plans to stand strong with their 400-yard freestyle relay teams of Jansen, Avery McFaddin, Maya Gendzel, and Olivia Yoo as well as Yendell, Kate Fuhrmann, Bailey and Janelle Schulz.
Last year, the Panthers claimed 21 first-place finishes against George Washington. The men ended with a final score of 174-123 with the women finishing 192-108 over the Colonials.
