Panthers Finish Strong At NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional

RESULTS
State College, PA- The University of Pittsburgh cross country men's and women's teams finish strong at NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Friday morning at Penn State Golf Courses in State College, PA.
The women's squad took home tenth place with 296 points, and the men's squad earned fifth place with 127 points.
"The women started the day off with a really solid performance. Coming in ranked 15th and moved up to a top 10 finish. Led by Emily and Sadie the two worked well together, "stated Brad Herbster." Reagan was running tough in the middle of the race and Winnie again ran well, Rusinski finished strong in her best race of the season," continued Herbster.
In the women's 6k race, Emily Brown was the first to cross the finish line on the women's squad. Brown placed 36th (21:26.50), Sadie Carey-Tharp came in 40th place (21:32.70), Winnie Incorvaia secured 60th place with a time of 21:53.40, Reagan Flannery finished 83rd (22:21.50), Caroline Rusinski placed (22:30.80), Gianna Cagliola earned 121st place with a time of 23:07.60, and Anna Cohen claimed 141st place (23:34.60).
"The men accomplished a lot of their goals: 3 All-Region, lowest team score at this regional in the current format top 5 finish, and 2 NCAA individual qualifiers in Jack Miller and Henseler," stated Herbster.
"Jack Miller and Henseler upfront committed to the race and put themselves in it. Luke Miller and Sam Otis battled all race and gave Pitt four in the top 30 and of course, Trey helped us finish 5th, "stated Herbster. "It has been a while since we have had representation at the national meet on the men's side, so I am excited to have Jack Miller and Henseler do great things, "continued Herbster.
In the men's 10k race, Jack Miller was the first to cross the finish line on the men's squad and took home 7th place (30:11.20), Luke Henseler earned 13th place (30:18.70), Luke Miller slid for 25th place (30:44.80), Sam Otis secured 27th place (30:56.90), Trey Gannon places 55th with a time of 31:33.80, and Quintin Gatons finished in 74th place (31:52.10).

Following this meet, the Panthers will head to Stillwater, OK for the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov.19.
