Pittsburgh- The Pitt men's and women's country teams are set to race at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals on Friday (Nov. 11) at Penn State Golf Courses in State College, PA.
The women will race in a 6k at 10:30 a.m., and the men's 10k race follows at 11:30 a.m.
The women's lineup will comprise of Emily Brown, Sadie Carey-Tharp, Winnie Incorvaia, Gianna Cagliola, Raegan Flannery, Anna Cohen, and Caroline Rusinski.
"The Women are looking to have an All-region performance or two and getting in that top 10 teams is the goal," stated Brad Herbster. "Brown and Carey-Tharp have looked really fit along with Incorvaia therefore it is now time to execute," continued Herbster.
The men's lineup will consist of Jack Miller, Luke Miller, Luke Henseler, Sam Otis, Peyton Geehrer, Quintin Gatons, Finn Walsh, and Trey Gannon.
"Jack Miller coming off ACC Championship has put himself in a good position to battle in the front of the race. Henseler has also set himself up well to perform near the front of the race," stated Herbster. "ACCs provided a nice difficult course as did Ok State, now we race at Penn state which is a fast course upfront but the last 2k is challenging and need to be mentally tough on this course. Otis will oversee keeping the gap small and we should have three or four guys battling for the 4 and 5 spots," continued Herbster. The last time Pitt had an NCAA qualifier was in 1994.
