
Panthers Set to Host Saint Francis in Fall Play

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt softball team continues its fall season with a double-header against Saint Francis, Sunday at Vartabedian Field.
The Panthers will host the Red Flash at 1 p.m. with the second game beginning approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Gates open one hour prior to first pitch Sunday morning. Admission is free and open to the public.
Pitt opened fall competition last weekend with a 12-4 win against Davis & Elkins. The Panthers pitching staff combined to hold the Senators to three hits while Yvonne Whaley and Bailey Drapola helped drive in runs with a leadoff home run and a two-run homer, respectively.
Pitt concludes fall play with a four-game weekend from Saturday, Oct. 8 to Sunday, Oct. 9 at Vartabedian Field. The Panthers will play a double-header against Glenville State, beginning Saturday at 1 p.m. followed by another double-header against Kent State, Sunday at 1 p.m.
