Eleven Pitt Gymnasts Earn WCGA Scholastic All-America Honors

Panthers Honored for Work in the Classroom
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Eleven student-athletes from the 2021 University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team have been named Scholastic All-Americans by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA), as announced Wednesday.
Two Pitt gymnasts became four-time WCGA Academic All-Americans: recent graduates Sophie Bochenek (psychology)and Haley Brechwald (political science). Bochenek and Brechwald each received bachelor's degrees this past year, earning 3.3 and 3.8 cumulative GPAs, respectively.
Rising seniors Katie Chamberlain (psychology), Olivia Miller (rehabilitation science) and Kiley Robatin (rehabilitation science) each earned their third nods to the list.
To be eligible for the honor, gymnasts must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher for the 2020-21 academic year. As a team, the Panthers earned a 3.523 GPA for the year.
