DURHAM, N.C. – Pitt baseball (6-3, 3-2) fell 8-1 at Duke (6-4, 3-2) Saturday afternoon at Durham Bull Athletic Park.
The Blue Devils scored in each of their first three trips to the plate. An error put a baserunner in position to reach home on a sac fly in the first inning. In the second, Duke got an RBI-hit followed by a walk and hit by pitch with the base loaded. The following inning Duke produced a run on an RBI-groundout.
David Yanni produced the Panthers' only run on a solo home run to right field, his third homer of the year, with one out in the sixth inning.
The series finale is Sunday at 1 p.m.
