No. 7 Pitt Set for Road Contest at Duke

PITTSBURGH – The No. 7 University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team travels to Durham, N.C., to face the Duke Blue Devils Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Koskinen Stadium. Live coverage will be broadcast on the ACCNX.

- Duke leads the all-time series 6-2-1, with Pitt winning the last two contests.
- The Panthers last faced Duke in the ACC Championship Quarterfinal Nov. 15. Pitt defeated the Blue Devils, 2-1, to advance to the ACC Championship Semifinal.
- Pitt's last regular season match against Duke was a come from behind victory for the Panthers. Down 3-0 in the 37th minute and 3-1 at halftime, Pitt scored three goals in the second half to win, 4-3.
- Duke enters the match 3-8-2 overall and 3-4 in ACC play. The Blue Devils are 1-2-2 this spring, with a 1-1 showing in conference play.
- Both the Panthers and Blue Devils have three points in the Coastal Division and sit three points back from first-place North Carolina.
- Duke enters the contest second in the ACC in corner kicks per game (5.92). They also rank sixth in shots per game (9.85).
- Freshman Nick Pariano leads the team in points with eight, as he has two goals and four assists for the season. Pariano's assist count is seventh in the ACC.
- Junior Eliot Hamill is the goalkeeper inside the pipes for Duke, posting a 1-2-2 record and 17 saves for the year. He has one shutout for the season.
- Sophomore Veljko Petkovic's early goal in the third minute proved just enough as No. 8 Pitt defeated Boston College at home, 1-0, Saturday, Mar. 13.
- Graduate student Nico Campuzano registered four saves and a clean sheet, his second of the season and third at home.
- The Panthers improved to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The five ACC wins are most in a season since joining the league in 2013, with four being the previous high set in 2019.
- Pitt enters the Duke match with the number one scoring offense in the conference with a 2.27 goals per game mark.
- The Panthers have totaled 25 goals this season, which is tied for first in the nation (Clemson). Pitt also leads the country in total points (77) and total assists (27).
- Pitt's 7.00 points per game mark also ranks first in the conference, while its .565 shot accuracy is second.
- Graduate student Jasper Löeffelsend has emerged as one of the best passers in the country, finding his teammates on seven different occasions this season for goals.
- The Cologne, Germany, native's seven assists are first in the ACC and second in the nation.
- Loeffelsend recorded an assist vs. Boston College Mar. 13 in the lone goal of the 1-0 shutout for his first of the spring campaign.
- Loeffelsend tallied three assists against Virginia Tech Oct. 10, tying him for second all-time in a single-game in program history. Freshman teammate Bertin Jacquesson also had three assists in that same game.
- Loeffelsend's seven assists currently rank tied for ninth in a single-season in program history.
- Graduate student goalkeeper Nico Campuzano finished the ACC Tournament with 15 saves and ended the fall season with 31 total saves.
- Campuzano's seven saves in the ACC Championship Final earned him a new career-high.
- Campuzano has registered six games with four or more saves and three games with six or more stops on the year.
- Campuzano delivered a clean sheet against Boston College at home Saturday, Mar. 13, making four stops for his second shutout of the season.
- The Cantabria, Spain, native has 36 saves on the season and two shutouts to his credit. His 36 total saves is first in the ACC and fourth in the nation.
- The Panthers stay on the road and travel to Blacksburg, Va., and take on Virginia Tech Saturday, Mar. 27 at 7 PM.
