Pitt Gymnastics Completes Quad Meet at NC State
RALEIGH, N.C. – Sophomore Emily Liszewski and junior Olivia Miller each reached the podium on vault in a quad meet for Pitt gymnastics (2-5, 2-4 EAGL) at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, N.C., Saturday night.
The Panthers (192.125) finished fourth, competing against host NC State (7-1, 7-1 EAGL), No. 24 North Carolina (3-1, 3-1 EAGL) and Towson (3-6, 3-6 EAGL). The Wolfpack won the meet with a league-best score of 196.025, followed by the Tar Heels (195.600) and the Tigers (194.475).
Liszewski and Miller each matched their season-best scores on vault to tie for third place in the event, both posting a 9.800.
Sophomore Lauren Beckwith competed in the all-around for the first time in her career, finishing fourth with a score of 38.050. Saturday night marked her career debut on vault, where she recorded a 9.700.
BARS
It was a slow start for the Panthers on bars. Trinity Macy and Katrina Coca each scored a team-best 9.775, with Macy's score marking a career high. Pitt ended the first rotation with a score of 46.925.
BEAM
Beckwith led the Panthers with a 9.825 on beam, followed by Macy and junior Kiley Robatin, each with a 9.775. Katie Chamberlain posted a 9.750, and Coca rounded out the top scores with a 9.700. The Panthers' two-event total was 95.750 following a 48.825 team score on beam.
FLOOR
Miller tied her season-best score with a 9.850 on floor to lead Pitt. Beckwith followed with a career-high tying 9.825. Liszewski contributed a 9.750. The Panthers scored a 47.650 in the third rotation to total 143.400.
VAULT
Three Panthers earned season-best scores to end the meet, with Miller and Liszewski each leading the team with scores of 9.800. Beckwith made her event debut and scored a 9.700. Senior Jordan Ceccarini had a 9.750, and Chamberlain followed with a 9.675. Pitt's four-event total came in at 192.125.
UP NEXT
Pitt will return home for a dual meet against Temple on Valentine's Day, Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. ET at Fitzgerald Field House. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN3.
