Pitt Gymnastics to Host Temple Sunday at 2 p.m. ET
PITTSBURGH – In celebration of Black History Month and in support of Pitt's Until We Unite initiative, the Pitt gymnastics team (2-5, 2-4 EAGL) will debut BLM leotards at Sunday's meet against Temple (0-7, 0-4 EAGL) at 2 p.m. ET at Fitzgerald Field House.

- Due to COVID-19 protocols set by the Pennsylvania Governor's Office, Pitt will not be permitted to host fans at the Fitzgerald Field House.
UNTIL WE UNITE MEET
- Sunday's meet against Temple is themed #UntilWeUnite, which spotlights Pitt Athletics' mission to promote an environment of inclusion for student-athletes, coaches and staff through education, dialogue and through the celebration of our differences.
- In celebration of Black History Month and in support of Pitt's Until We Unite initiative, the Panthers will debut BLM leotards at Sunday's meet. The Pitt gymnastics coaches and staff will wear black t-shirts featuring the words "Black Lives Matter."
- The Pitt gymnastics program curated a social media campaign that includes a team PSA, spotlights on local organizations that support the Black community as well as Pitt's required antiracism course, called "Anti-Black Racism: History, Ideology and Resistance."
LAST TIME OUT
- Sophomore Emily Liszewski and junior Olivia Miller each reached the podium on vault in a quad meet for Pitt at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, N.C., Saturday night.
- The Panthers (192.125) finished fourth, competing against host NC State, No. 24 North Carolina and Towson. The Wolfpack won the meet with a league-best score of 196.025, followed by the Tar Heels (195.600) and the Tigers (194.475).
- Liszewski and Miller each matched their season-best scores on vault to tie for third place in the event, both posting a 9.800.
- Sophomore Lauren Beckwith competed in the all-around for the first time in her career, finishing fourth with a score of 38.050. Saturday night marked her career debut on vault, where she recorded a 9.700.
RANKING THE PANTHERS
- Katrina Coca ranks fourth in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) on bars at 9.837, ranked No. 56 in the nation.
- As a team, Pitt is second in the EAGL on beam with an average score of 48.556, behind North Carolina (48.988).
SCOUTING THE OWLS
- Last time out the Owls (0-7, 0-4 EAGL) achieved a season-best score of 194.580 in a tri-meet against No. 5 Oklahoma (197.800) and No. 8 Denver (196.725). Temple earned its highest beam rotation score of the season at 48.825. Five Owls tallied season-high scores on events.
- Pitt owns a 22-10 lead in the all-time series against Temple, with a 12-5 record when competing in Pittsburgh. The teams last met Feb. 9, 2019, when the Owls earned the victory by a score of 194.200-193.550.
- The 2021 campaign marks Temple's first season as a member of the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL). The Owls join LIU as the league's two newest members.
