Panthers Host Syracuse On Sunday For Senior Day Game

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's basketball team (4-6, 2-5 ACC) will welcome the Syracuse Orange to the Petersen Events Center on Sunday, Feb. 7 for a 2:00 pm tip. Sunday's game will air live on RSN (AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh locally) with Tom Werme and Kelley Deyo on the call.

- Sunday's meeting will be the 66th meeting of all-time with Syracuse owning the 46-19 lead in the series.
- The Orange own a 19-12 edge in games played in Pittsburgh.
- Syracuse has won 19 straight in the series with Pitt's last victory coming in 2009.
- The two teams met just over a week ago in Syracuse with the Orange taking the 80-57 victory at the Dome.
- Another slow first quarter cost Pitt on Thursday night as the Virginia Tech Hokies outscored the Panthers 28-10 in the opening 10 minutes of action.
- The Panthers outscored the Hokies 32-29 in the second and third quarter combined but were outscored in the fourth in the loss.
- Dayshanette Harris led the Panthers with 18 points, six rebounds and three assists while Destiny Strother came off the bench and netted 12 points on f4-for-5 from behind the arc.
- The difference in the game came in points off of turnovers as the Hokies were able to score 24 points off of 17 Pitt turnovers while the Panthers netted just seven points off nine Virginia Tech mishaps.
- Sophomore point guard Dayshanette Harris is one of seven players in the NCAA to be averaging at least 14.2 ppg, 5.1 apg, 4.8 rpg and 1.2 spg so far this season.
- Sophomore Amber Brown grabbed her 300th career rebound in her 41st career game Thursday night. She is the second fastest player to 300 career rebounds since Pitt joined the ACC in 2013-14.
- The Panthers currently rank fourth in the ACC in offensive rebounds/game (15.2 orpg) and second during ACC play (15.6 orpg).
- Pitt returns to the court Sunday, Feb. 7 as they play host to Syracuse at 2:00 pm. Sunday's game will air on RSN (AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh).
- The Pitt backcourt duo of Jayla Everett and Dayshanette Harris are the third highest scoring backcourt in the ACC overall and in ACC games this season (28.5 ppg / 27.0 ppg - min. 7 ACC GP).
- The Panthers will honor three senior student-athletes prior to Sunday's game as part of Senior Day festivities. Pitt will honor Cara Judkins, Gabbie Green and Marcella Lamark.
- The Panthers will hit the road for their next game as they travel down to Winston Salem to take on Wake Forest on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 6:00 pm. Thursday's game will air on ACC Network Extra.
