Pitt Gymnastics to Compete Against Three EAGL Opponents
PITTSBURGH – For the second time this season, the Pitt gymnastics team (2-2, 2-1 EAGL) will travel to Raleigh, N.C., set to compete against host NC State (4-1, 4-1 EAGL) in a quad meet with North Carolina (1-0, 1-0 EAGL) and Towson (2-4, 2-4 EAGL) at 4 p.m. ET Saturday at Reynolds Coliseum.

LAST TIME OUT
- Pitt scored a season-high 195.700 to defeat NC State (195.425) and Towson (194.475) in a tri-meet at Fitzgerald Field House Sunday evening. The Panthers' total is the highest score by any team in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) so far in 2021.
- The Panthers had season-best team scores in every event, including a 49.075 on balance beam, marking the team's highest score in any event in 2021.
- Katrina Coca tied for the individual win on uneven bars, matching her season-high score of 9.875.
- Juniors Katie Chamberlain and Kiley Robatin each reached the podium on balance beam, tying for second place at 9.850.
- Sophomores Emily Liszewski and Lauren Beckwith placed third on floor exercise, both posting career-high scores of 9.825.
RANKING THE PANTHERS
- Pitt junior Katie Chamberlain leads the EAGL with an average of 9.875 on uneven bars, ranked No. 16 nationally by RoadToNationals.com. She ranks fourth on balance beam with a 9.775 avearge.
- On Jan. 24 against Kent State, Chamberlain earned a career-high 9.900 on bars, marking a team-high score for the season in any event.
- Katrina Coca is third in the EAGL on bars at 9.858, ranked No. 30 in the nation.
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
- NC State enters Saturday's meet with a 4-1 overall record and 4-1 record in the EAGL. Last time out, the Wolfpack (195.425) fell short to Pitt (195.700), but defeated Towson (194.475) in a tri-meet in Pittsburgh (Jan. 31).
- Saturday will be the third meeting between Pitt and NC State in 2021, as the teams State faced off to open the 2021 season, where the Wolfpack came away with a win, 194.925-192.850, in Raleigh, N.C., before competing again in Pittsburgh Jan. 31.
- Sophomore Chloe Negrete earned EAGL Specialist of the Week honors for her performance at Pitt that included a 9.850 on vault and a 9.900 on floor.
- NC State lead the EAGL on bars and floor, averaging 49.008 and 48.992, respectively.
- The Wolfpack owns a 41-10 lead in the all-time series. NC State holds a 12-1 record against Pitt when competing in Raleigh.
SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
- North Carolina (1-0, 1-0 EAGL) enters Saturday's meet having competed just once in 2021, winning a dual at New Hampshire (195.200-194.275) on Jan. 22. The Tar Heels' home meet against George Washington set for Jan. 31 was postponed due to inclement weather in the Washington, D.C., area.
- The Tar Heels lead the EAGL on vault (48.750) and beam (48.950).
- Elizabeth Culton is the league's top performer on bars (9.875), tied with Pitt's Katie Chamberlain. Culton also leads the EAGL on beam with a 9.950 average.
- Saturday will be the 45th meeting between Pitt and North Carolina, with the Tar Heels leading the series, 31-13. The last time the teams met, the Tar Heels came away with the victory, 193.625-192.450, in Chapel Hill, N.C. Pitt is 10-20 all-time when competing against North Carolina at a neutral site.

- Last time out, Towson (2-4, 2-3 EAGL) fell short to Pitt (195.700) and NC State (195.425), but scored a season-best 194.475 in a tri-meet in Pittsburgh (Jan. 31).
- Saturday will be the second consecutive meeting between Pitt and Towson in 2021.
- Lauren Bolen earned EAGL Gymnast of the Week honors for her performance at Pitt (Jan. 31). She leads the EAGL in the all-around with an average score of 39.050.
- Sunday will be the 46th meeting between Pitt and Towson, with the Tigers leading the all-time series 26-19. Towson has a 13-9 advantage when competing against Pitt at a neutral site.

- Pitt will return home for a dual meet against Temple on Valentine's Day, Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. ET at Fitzgerald Field House. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN3.
