
Pitt Drops Season-Opener 4-0 to Indiana State

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Pitt baseball dropped its season-opener 4-0 to Indiana State in the Snowbird Classic Friday afternoon at Centennial Park. The Panthers were limited to just six hits in the loss.
Indiana State scored all four runs in the first two innings. The Sycamores took the lead with a two-run homer in the first inning that was followed by a two-out RBI-single. In the next inning, Indiana State got its last run on another one-run single.
Game two of the series is Saturday at 2 p.m.

- Mitch Myers started and went five innings with nine strikeouts, eight hits, three earned runs and one walk.

- Kyle Hess and Riley Wash both had two hits, and David Yanni also had a double.
