Women's Hoops Set For Big Test Against #3 Louisville Thursday Night

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team (5-9, 3-8 ACC) will be looking for their second straight win on Thursday night as they welcome #3 Louisville to the Petersen Events Center for a conference matchup. Thursday's game will tip at 8:00 pm on the ACC Network with Jenn Hildreth and Debbie Antonelli on the call.

- Thursday's meeting marks the 23rd game between the two programs all-time with the Cardinals owning the 20-2 record in the series. Louisville is 12-0 against Pitt since becoming ACC affiliates.
- The Cardinals are 8-2 all-time in games being played in Pittsburgh.
- Overall, Louisville has won 16 straight in the series with the Panthers' last win coming on Feb. 14, 2010.
- The Panthers were able to break through and finish off a win on Tuesday night at Boston College, 83-80. It marked Pitt's third ACC win, their most in a season since 2016-17.
- It marked Pitt's biggest come-from-behind victory in conference play since joining the ACC in 2013-14 (15 points). It was also their biggest comeback win overall since March, 1, 2015.
- Jayla Everett led all scorers with 22 points and seven assists while Dayshanette Harris posted 15 points, four rebounds and three assists. Liatu King had a strong game with nine points, a career-high 10 points and four blocks.
- The Panthers finished off the win with a season-high 44 points in the paint while the bench chipped in with 34 points.
- Junior guard Jayla Everett has led the Panthers offensively all season long and currently ranks 9th in the ACC in scoring (15.4 ppg). She also ranks third in the ACC in three-pointers made/game (2.9) while connecting on a team-high 41 triples.
- A bright spot for the Panthers so far this season has been their rebounding, especially on the offensive glass. Pitt currently ranks second in the ACC in offensive rebounds/game (16.3 orpg) while also ranking 13th in the NCAA. In ACC play, Pitt leads the conference by grabbing 16.8 orpg.
- The Panthers return home on Thursday night as they welcome #3 Louisville to the Pete for a 8:00 pm tip. Thursday's game will air on the ACC Network.
- The Pitt backcourt duo of Jayla Everett and Dayshanette Harris are the fourth highest scoring backcourt in the ACC overall and in ACC games this season (28.5 ppg / 27.5 ppg - min. 11 ACC GP).
- The Pitt offense has begun to hit their stride as they have posted two ACC games with 80+ points scored, tied for the most in a season in program history. Pitt is averaging 68.0 ppg in ACC play, their highest points per game total through 11 ACC games in program history.
- The Panthers have scored 70+ points in eight of their 14 games this season, marking the most 70+ point games in a season since 2015-16 (eight).
- Pitt has scored 70+ points in five ACC games so far this season, the most in conference play since joining the league in 2013-14.
- Pitt is averaging 68.0 ppg through the first 11 ACC games, the highest ppg through the first 11 ACC games in program history.
- For just the second time in program history, the Panthers have two games with 80+ points scored (Clemson, BC) in a season. The Panthers are 6-0 when they score at least 80 points in ACC play.
- The offense has also put together four of the best scoring quarters since the NCAA switched to the four quarter format in 2015-16. Pitt has played 668 full quarters since 2015-16 and they have four of their top-5 scoring quarters this season in their last 11 games.

NEWCOMERS MAKING AN IMPACT
- The Panthers added six new faces to their roster this season, four freshman and two transfers, and they have all made big impacts on the program.
- The six Pitt newcomers are supplying 44.7% of the scoring and 75.6% of the three-pointers.
- Jayla Everett leads all newcomers with 15.4 ppg while Destiny Strother is averaging 7.0 ppg and Liatu King is averaging 5.5 ppg. Tracey Hueston, Sandrine Clesca and Taisha Exanor have combined to average 4.6 ppg.
- Strother has connected on 24 three-pointers this season, the most in the ACC by a player without a start this season.
- Pitt will return home for the final time on Monday, Feb. 22 as they play host to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish at the Petersen Events Center. Monday's game will tip at 8:00 pm on the ACC Network.
- Monday's game will also be the Panthers' annual "Pink The Pete" game. The festivities around "Pink The Pete" will be mostly presented on social media while the team will be wearing their pink jersey's in support of those who have been affected by breast cancer.
