Pitt Alum Juliana Vazquez Set to Play for Puerto Rico National Team

PITTSBURGH – Pitt women's soccer alum Juliana Vazquez will play for Puerto Rico's National Team in friendlies at the Dominic Republic in Santo Domingo on Feb. 18 and 21. Her first call up with the national team, Vazquez is currently training with the team in preparation for the two games.

Vazquez played professionally for Puerto Rico Sol FC this past spring before COVID-19 ended the season prematurely. Her tenure with the Sol got off to a promising start, as she scored four goals in her debut with the team on Feb. 16.

The first Pitt women's soccer player under head coach Randy Waldrum to turn pro, Vazquez appeared in 70 games while notching 61 starts over her impressive Panthers' career. Serving as team captain for the 2019 season, she scored a goal and assisted on the golden goal against Boston College this year for the Panthers' first ACC win in three years. She recorded four goals and seven assists for 15 total points in her career.
