
Pitt Gymnastics Wins Tri-Meet With Season-High Score

Panthers Post 195.700 to Defeat NC State, Towson
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (2-2, 2-1 EAGL) scored a season-high 195.700 to defeat NC State (4-1, 3-1 EAGL) and Towson (2-4, 2-3 EAGL) in a tri-meet at Fitzgerald Field House Sunday evening.
Pitt's highest score of the season topped the Wolfpack (195.425) and the Tigers (194.475). The Panthers had season-best team scores in every event, including a 49.075 on balance beam, marking the team's highest score in any event so far in 2021.
Katrina Coca tied for the individual win on uneven bars, matching her season-high score of 9.875.
Juniors Katie Chamberlain and Kiley Robatin each reached the podium on balance beam, tying for second place at 9.850.
Sophomores Emily Liszewski and Lauren Beckwith placed third on floor exercise, both posting career-high scores of 9.825.
VAULT
Every Panther recorded a season-high score in the vault lineup, led by sophomore Ciara Ward with a 9.825. Liszewski and junior Olivia Miller followed with scores of 9.800. Chamberlain made her event debut and scored 9.775, while senior Jordan Ceccarini rounded out the lineup with a 9.750. Pitt earned a strong start to the meet with a season-best team vault score of 48.950.
BARS
Coca's 9.875 was the highlight of the second rotation, followed closely by Chamberlain with a 9.850. Miller recorded a 9.775, followed by freshman Trinity Macy and Beckwith at 9.725. Beckwith's score marked a career high. The Panthers completed the second rotation with their highest bars team score of the season at 48.950.
BEAM
Two Panthers posted career-high beam scores, with Chamberlain at 9.850 and Macy at 9.800. Robatin tied Chamberlain for third place at 9.850, which was a season-high score for the junior. Ceccarini contributed a season-best 9.800, and Coca rounded out the team's top marks with a 9.775. Pitt's 49.075 in the third rotation marked a season high on any event in 2021 for the Panthers.
FLOOR
Pitt's strong finish to the meet included three career-high scores from Panthers. Liszewski and Beckwith reached the podium, tying for third place with scores of 9.825. Macy also reached a career high of 9.600. Ceccarini posted a season-best 9.775 in the event, while Miller rounded out the top scores with a 9.700. Pitt closed the meet with a 48.725 to win the overall competition at 195.700.
