Pitt Announces ACC Schedule

PITTSBURGH – University of Pittsburgh baseball has released its 2021 ACC schedule Tuesday, head coach Mike Bell announced. Traditionally playing 10 ACC series in a season, the Panthers are slated to play 12 conference series this season, six at Charles L. Cost Field and six on the road, for a total of 36 games.
"With the addition of two more conference weekends in what some believe is the toughest baseball league in the country, this year provides possibly the most challenging schedule in the history of our program," Bell said. "Starting out with four top-15 ranked programs on the road in the first five weekends will not define us as a team, but will challenge us to grow together as a program. We're extremely excited to get back on the field together and compete. I truly believe last year's pandemic/pause allowed a lot of us as coaches and athletes to reflect and truly understand how lucky we are to play this great game."
Home ACC Weekend Series: Virginia Tech (March 26-28), Notre Dame (April 1-3), Miami (April 9-11), North Carolina (April 16-18), Boston College (May 7-9), NC State (May 14-16)
The Panthers are at home for four-straight weekends, facing the Hokies to start and then the Irish, Hurricanes and Tar Heels. The series against Notre Dame is moved up a day due to Easter. Pitt closes out home league action in back-to-back weeks in May against the Eagles and Wolf Pack.
Road ACC Weekend Series: Florida State (Feb. 26-28), Duke (March 5-7), Georgia Tech (March 12-14), Virginia (March 19-21), Louisville (April 23-25), Wake Forest (May 20-22)
Pitt kicks off conference play at Bell's alma mater and previous coaching stop in Tallahassee, Fla. The Panthers stay on the road for three more weekends to play the Blue Devils, Yellow Jackets and Cavaliers. Pitt goes away from home a month later to square off against the Cardinals and then ends the regular season at the Demon Deacons.
ACC Tournament: May 25-30
The ACC Tournament will be held this year in a location to be determined.
The Panthers' full schedule will be announced at a later time. All games and times are subject to change. Pitt begins team practice on January 29.
