Pitt Named United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award Recipient

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Pitt women's soccer earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches, the organization announced Thursday. The honor is given out to recognize exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2019-20 academic year. The Panthers earned a 3.35 team GPA last year.
A total of 889 college teams (333 men, 556 women) earned the Team Academic Award, including 176 schools who had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
Fresh off its 2-1 overtime win at The Citadel to set the record for best start in program history (5-0), the two teams square off again Sunday at 11 a.m.
