Q&A
What about Pitt made you want to spend your career as a Panther?
I love the environment at Pitt, both athletically and academically. I love all of the soccer coaches and the strength coaches here. They have high standards for their athletes, which makes me push past my comfort zone and grow as a player and as a person.
What makes soccer special to you?
Without soccer, I wouldn't have a deep understanding of teamwork, decision-making and determination. Soccer taught me how to manage my emotions and how to manage my time. Soccer allows me to escape the 'real world' and focus on my passion.
How would you describe yourself as a player?
I am a central defensive midfielder. I am hungry to win the ball from the opponents and I love setting up my teammates for scoring opportunities. I know how to control the tempo of the game.
What are some goals you have for your Panther career?
I would like to be a part of creating a new era for this program. I'm determined to make the most out of my four years, leaving all that I have on the field. I will leave with zero regrets, knowing that I became a better player and helped out the team.
What are your biggest strengths as a player?
I am a dynamic and technical midfielder. I know how to read the game and have awareness on and off the ball. I'm able to execute different types of passes with accuracy. I love playing quickly under pressure, too.
Who introduced you to the sport of soccer?
My older brother, George-Alexis, started playing soccer and I wanted to be like him (and beat him!).
What is your (intended) major?
I would like to major in Civil Engineering.
What are three words that describe you?
Enthusiastic, determined, optimistic.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of soccer?
I enjoy reading and biking. I also appreciate spending time with my friends and family.
What was the last TV show you binge watched?
America's Got Talent.
What are some of the difference between your hometown and Pittsburgh?
There is a huge language difference with French being the most-spoken language in Montreal. There is also more snow in winter in Montreal and it gets extremely cold.
If you could bring one thing from your hometown to Pittsburgh, what would it be?
I would bring some poutine so my teammates can try some.
If you could meet three people (past or present) who would you want to meet? Why?
I would want to meet Kobe Bryant. Kobe taught me about the mindset needed to become the best player and how to achieve an unbreakable mentality. I'd also want to meet Andrea Pirlo, one of my favorite central defensive midfielders. Finally, I'd want to meet Lionel Messi. Simply because he is the best soccer player in the world.
If you could be a star in any sport, other than soccer, which one would it be?
I would choose ice hockey. I played ball hockey growing up and I really enjoyed it!
If you could pick any superpower what would it be?
I would like to have the ability to manipulate time.
In which movie universe would you most like to live?
This is not a movie but I'd choose Bikini Bottom to hang out with SpongeBob.
If you were an animal what would you be?
I would be a lion. I think they're fearless.
What would you sing at karaoke night?
