Brittney Villhauer to Transfer to Pitt from Jacksonville
PITTSBURGH – Head lacrosse coach Emily Boissonneault announced the addition of transfer Brittney Villhauer to the Panthers' roster.
"I am excited to announce the addition of our second transfer," Boissonneault said. "Brittney is an incredible athlete with both power and speed, exactly what I like to see in my athletes. On the field, she will specifically help us on the draw and transition as a defensive midfielder. Through this recruiting process, I was most impressed with her eagerness to learn and improve herself. She was beyond excited for the challenge and opportunity to have an impact here at Pitt and play a vital role in creating our legacy."
Villhauer is the second transfer to join the Pitt lacrosse program and 11th overall.
"I am extremely honored to be on the inaugural team at Pitt," Villhauer said. "Helping start a program also means being able to help build the culture of that team. It is a huge privilege to get to be a part of something like that. Being able to compete in the most competitive conference that the NCAA has to offer is something I am really excited about. I can't wait to get to work with my new teammates."
Villhauer spent the past two seasons at Jacksonville University where she saw action in 16 total games. As a freshman, Villhauer picked up two ground balls and caused two turnovers. She also posted 14 draw controls with nine of them coming against a win over Howard.
A native of Woodstock, Ga., Villhauer was a three-year starting midfielder at Blessed Trinity Catholic where she helped the Titans to back-to-back Georgia A-AAAA State Championships.
