
Pitt Set To Battle #7 Georgia Tech In Second Round Of ACC Tournament

PITTSBURGH – After earning just their second ACC Tournament victory yesterday, the Pitt women's basketball team will battle #7 Georgia Tech on Thursday evening in Greensboro in the Second Round of the ACC Tournament. The Panthers and Yellow Jackets will tip at 6:00 pm inside the Greensboro Coliseum.

- Thursday evening's game against Georgia Tech will air live on RSN at 6:00 pm. The game can be streamed HERE.

- This meeting marks the ninth all-time between the two programs with Georgia Tech holding the slim 5-3 edge in the series.
- The Yellow Jackets downed the Panthers earlier this season in Pittsburgh, 77-48.
- This marks the first meeting between the two at a neutral site.
- The last win for the Panthers against Georgia Tech came on Jan. 14, 2018.
- The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets closed out the regular season with a 19-10 record and a 10-8 ACC mark. They have won two straight entering Thursday's second round game.
- Francesca Pan is leading the Yellow Jackets offensively as she is averaging 12.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and a team-high 1.3 steals. Pan earned Second Team All-ACC honors on Monday.
- Jasmine Carson ranks second on the team averaging 10.2 points while connecting on a team-high 52 three-pointers. Kierra Fletcher has started all 29 games and is averaging 10.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and a team-high 3.0 assists.
- As a team, the Yellow Jackets are averaging 62.1 ppg while allowing 52.1 ppg. They are averaging 37.8 rpg while shooting 40.4% from the floor as a team on the year.
- The Panthers made history as they secured just their second ACC Tournament win in program history as they downed Notre Dame, 67-65, behind a game-winning shot with 2.7 seconds left by Dayshanette Harris.
- Harris had a monster game in the win as she netted her first career double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three assists and three steals.
- Gabbie Green finished off her strong game with 14 points on 4-for-5 from behind the arc while Ismini Prapa came off the bench and netted 12 points on 4-for-4 from behind the arc.
- Pitt shot a season-best 56.3% from three-point range (9-16) while outrebounding the Irish 40-34. The Pitt bench also outscored Notre Dame 14-3.
- On Monday afternoon it was announced that freshman point guard Dayshanette Harris was selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team. With the selection, Harris became just the second Panther in program history (Brenna Wise, 2016) to earn the recognition. Harris is also just the third Pitt player in program history to earn a spot on an All-ACC squad.
- The new-look Pitt lineup now features five newcomers in starting roles. So far this season the six total newcomers have combined to average 43.3 points and 27.1 rebounds per game. They are accounting for 73.0% of the Pitt scoring this season.
- The Panthers moved to the ACC during the 2013-14 season and have posted a 2-6 record in the ACC Tournament.
- Last night, Pitt posted their second ACC Tournament win in program history as they downed Notre Dame, 67-65.???????
- Dayshanette Harris had the second 20+ point effort in the ACC Tournament by a Panther. Her nine made field goals are a new program record for an ACC Tournament game.
- If the Panthers win, they will advance to the ACC Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in program history and will take on #2 NC State on Friday at 6:00 pm.
