
Pitt Closes Regular Season At Miami On Sunday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team hits the road for the Sunshine State on Sunday afternoon to close out their 2019-20 regular season against the Miami Hurricanes. Sunday's game will air live on ACC Network Extra at 3:00 pm.

- This meeting marks the 32nd game between the two programs with the Hurricanes holding the 22-9 lead in the series.
- Miami has won five straight in the series overall and 11 straight in games being played in Coral Gables.
- The Hurricanes own the 14-1 series lead in games played in Miami with the Panthers lone win coming on Feb. 2, 1994.
- The Panthers last win over the Hurricanes came on Feb. 1, 2015 in Pittsburgh.
- The Miami Hurricanes enter Sunday afternoon's regular season finale with a 14-14 overall record and a 6-11 ACC mark. The Hurricanes won last time out at Wake Forest, 79-63.
- The Hurricanes are being led offensively by one of the best players in the country, Beatrice Mompremier, who is averaging 16.7 points and 10.1 rebounds while shooting 52.7% from the floor. The senior has played in only 15 games this season due to injury.
- Mykea Gray is enjoying a career year as she is averaging 12.6 points, 2.9 assists and a team-high 2.2 steals while connecting on 50 three-pointers.
- Kelsey Marshall is averaging 11.3 points and 2.5 assists while knocking down a team-high 68 triples.
- As a team, Miami is averaging 64.2 ppg while allowing 65.8 ppg. The Hurricanes are shooting 38.9% from the floor while their opponents shoot 40.3%.
- Despite trailing by as little as three with five minutes to play on Thursday night, the Panthers weren't able to make the comeback on the road against Virginia as they fell 66-55.
- Freshman Dayshanette Harris led the way for the Panthers on Thursday as she netted a game-high 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists while Gabbie Green added 11 points on three triples.
- Emy Hayford added eight points and four boards while Rita Igbokwe had nine points and two blocks and Amber Brown grabbed a team-high eight boards in the loss.
- The Cavaliers won the battle on the boards 42-35 while also dominating the paint, outscoring the Panthers 30-12 down low. Pitt connected on nine three-pointers in the loss, the second most three-pointers made in a game this season and most in ACC play for the Panthers.
- The Panthers will be the #15 seed in the ACC Tournament and will take on the #10 seed at 3:30 pm in Greensboro, N.C. inside the Greensboro Coliseum.
