Panthers Conclude Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament

LOS ANGELES – The University of Pittsburgh softball team concluded the four day Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament on the campus of UCLA Sunday morning.
Pitt fell to the No. 4 Bruins, 17-0, in the first game of the final day of the tournament.
UCLA scored 13 in the first inning, one in the third and three in the fourth.
Freshman Hope Alley and juniors Katlyn Pavlick and Chandler Walter each tallied a single.
The Panthers head back to Pittsburgh with a 2-3 record. For the tournament, junior LoLo Sanchez went 8-for-14, batting .571 with eight hits, two runs and two RBIs. Pavlick hit .333 with four runs, a triple, home run and two RBIs, while senior Kaitlyn Kruger totaled four hits, including a home run and two RBIs.
Pitt next plays Michigan State and Maryland twice next weekend in the ACC/B1G Challenge in Clemson, S.C. The Panthers begin play Friday, Feb. 14 against the Spartans at 12 p.m.
