Pitt Gymnastics Set For Dual Meet at No. 19 Southern Utah
PITTSBURGH – Pitt gymnastics (5-5, 2-3 EAGL) will take on No. 19 Southern Utah (4-5, 2-3 MRGC) for the first time in program history when the Panthers visit Cedar City Monday at 9 p.m. ET.

LAST TIME OUT
- Pitt fell short to rival West Virginia by less than half a point, 194.925-194.575, on Senior Night at Fitzgerald Field House Friday.
- With the win, the Mountaineers evened up the season series, 1-1, as Pitt claimed the first meeting at the George Washington quad meet Jan. 31. The teams will meet again for the rubber match Sunday, March 1 in Morgantown.
- The Panthers honored senior competitors Michaela Burton, Rachel Dugan, Deven Herbine and Alecia Petrikis, as well as Lucy Jones, Hallie Peele and Megan Tripp.
- Despite the team loss, two senior Panthers earned individual wins. Burton earned a season-high 9.900 on uneven bars and a 9.850 on balance beam, and Petrikis won floor exercise for the second consecutive meet, scoring 9.850.
SCOUTING THE THUNDERBIRDS
- The No. 19 Southern Utah Thunderbirds (4-5, 2-3 MRGC), nicknamed the Flippin' Birds, fell short in a dual meet against No. 17 Iowa State Friday night (196.300-195.775).
- Two T-Birds were named individual event champions and Karley McClain was named the all-around champion against the Cyclones.
- Southern Utah posted a season-high score of 197.225 against Central Michigan Feb. 7 in Cedar City.
- The T-Birds are the second top 25 team Pitt will face this season. The Panthers defeated then-ranked No. 24 West Virginia Jan. 31 at a George Washington quad meet.
UP NEXT
- Pitt will visit Morgantown, W.Va., for a tri-meet against Rutgers and host West Virginia Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m. ET.
