Pitt Travels To Syracuse For Orange's Play4Kay Game On Sunday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team hits the road on Sunday afternoon to take on the Syracuse Orange inside the Carrier Dome at 1:00 pm. Sunday's game will be the Orange's Play4Kay game to raise awareness for breast cancer and will air live on RSN, AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh in the Pittsburgh area with Tom Werme (play-by-play) and Kelley Deyo (analyst) on the call.

- Sunday afternoon's game at Syracuse will air live on RSN, AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh in the Pittsburgh area. The game can be streamed by clicking HERE.

- This meeting marks the 64th meeting of all-time between the two teams, the most games against a single opponent in Pitt history.
- The Orange currently hold the 44-19 lead in the series and have won 12 straight overall.
- Syracuse downed Pitt 69-51 earlier this season in Pittsburgh.
- The Panthers last win in the series came on Jan. 24, 2009.
- The Syracuse Orange enter Sunday afternoon's game with a 13-11 overall record and a 7-6 ACC mark. The Orange have won three straight including last time out against UNC, 74-56.
- The Orange are being led offensively this season by Kiara Lewis who currently ranks fourth in the ACC in scoring (17.5 ppg) while adding 4.9 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.8 steals across 37.3 mpg.
- Forward Emily Engstler is one of two players in the ACC to average double digit rebounds as she is averaging 10.0 rpg to go along with 9.9 points and 1.8 bpg. She has also connected on a career-high 32 three-pointers so far this season.
- As a team, the Orange are averaging 69.1 ppg while allowing 67.0 ppg. They grab an average of 42.0 rpg (2nd in the ACC) while allowing their opponents to grab 40.3 rpg (13th in the ACC).
- Without a pair of starters on Thursday night, the Panthers weren't able to dig out of an early hole as they fell to Duke at home 73-56.
- A trio of Pitt freshmen stepped up on Thursday to lead the offense as they combined to net 32 points in the loss. Rita Igbokwe led the way with her first career double-double as she netted a career-high 15 points and 11 boards in the loss. Amber Brown chipped in with 11 points and nine rebounds while Emy Hayford had six points, seven boards and four assists.
- As a team, Pitt won the rebounding battle 46-38 while also grabbing 23 offensive rebounds and pouring in 23 second chance points in the loss.
- Pitt will stay on the road for their next game as they head to Boston, Mass. to take on Boston College on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7:00 pm.
