Panthers to Host Towson, Yale at Fitzgerald Field House
PITTSBURGH – Pitt gymnastics (3-4, 1-3 EAGL) is set for a tri-meet against Towson (5-2, 1-2 EAGL) and Yale (8-2, 1-1 ECAC) Saturday at 2 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House.

- Valentine's Day: On the balcony, there will be a station where children can color valentines and make their own Valentine's Day bags. Following the meet, the gymnasts will distribute Valentines in the children's bags.
- Post-Meet Autographs: The Panthers will sign autographs following the meet.

- Hill District Outreach: Pitt gymnastics welcomes elementary school students from the Hill District in Pittsburgh to celebrate Valentine's Day at the meet.
#PITTSBURT STRIKES AGAIN
- For the second time this season, senior Michaela Burton has been named the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week, as announced Tuesday.
- Burton last earned the honor following the first week of 2020 competition, on Jan. 14. The Downers, Grove, Ill., native is the first Pitt gymnast to earn multiple honors in a season since Lindsay Offutt received the accolades three times in 2016. Burton is one of five Panthers ever to earn the honor, along with Offutt, Tracey Pearson (2016), Alicia Talucci (2009, 2010) and Alix Croop (2009).
- Burton picked up her fourth uneven bars title with a season high-tying score of 9.850 against NC State Saturday. The senior has won the event at four of the Panthers' five meets so far this season. Against the Wolfpack, she led Pitt on every event in which she competed: on bars (9.850), balance beam (9.875) and floor exercise (9.875 – career high).
RANKING THE PANTHERS
- Senior Michaela Burton is the EAGL's top performer on uneven bars with an average score of 9.840. She has earned the individual title for the event in four of the Panthers' five meets so far this season, recording a team-best score of 9.850 three times.
- Burton ranks third in the league on beam with an average score of 9.810. She owns the Panthers' top score on the event this season, earning a 9.925 at the George Washington Quad Meet Jan. 31.
- Pitt is second in the EAGL on bars with an average team score of 48.650. The Panthers moved up to No. 32 in the nation on the event this week.
LAST TIME OUT
- For the second consecutive meet, Pitt scored above 195 to record its second-highest total of the season, posting a 195.350 in a dual meet against NC State. The Wolfpack earned the team win, 196.025-195.350.
- Three senior Panthers earned individual titles, with Alecia Petrikis and Deven Herbine posting career-best scores of 9.875 on vault, and Michaela Burton with a 9.850 on bars. Burton's win was her fourth on bars this season.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- Towson (5-2, 1-2 EAGL) is sixth in the EAGL rankings with an average team score of 193.570. The Tigers earned a season-best score of 194.725 in a quad meet Jan. 17.
- Senior Ally Wesoly is the EAGL's No. 2 competitor in the all-around, averaging 38.925.
- The Panthers won the last meeting between the teams, at the 2019 EAGL Championships (194.900-193.450) March 23, 2019.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
- Last time out, Yale (8-2, 1-1) earned a season-best score of 194.175 in a dual meet against Brockport.
- Sophomore Lindsay Chia was named the ECAC Specialist of the Week for the first time this season after receiving career-high scores on beam (9.825) and bars (9.825) against Brockport.
- The Panthers have won the last seven meetings between the programs, including the most recent contest in 2016 (193.475-192.275).
