Game Storylines
• Pitt hosts its final home contest of the 2020 season when it entertains Virginia Tech at Heinz Field. This will be the 20th all-time meeting between the Panthers and Hokies.
• Pitt had an unscheduled open date following the postponement of its Nov. 14 contest at Georgia Tech. The Hokies are coming off a 25-24 loss to No. 9 Miami, a game they led for more than 54 minutes before surrendering a late touchdown.
• Pitt is 5-1 all-time against Virginia Tech at Heinz Field. The teams last met in Pittsburgh in 2018 and the Panthers rolled to a 52-22 victory. The Hokies would avenge that defeat with a 28-0 win in Blacksburg in 2019.
• Virginia Tech's lone victory at Heinz came in a nationally televised ESPN Thursday night game in 2016. The Hokies won a back-and-forth affair, 39-36.
