Knight Records Complete Game Victory against Orange
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Redshirt sophomore Brittany Knight went the distance for a complete game victory in Pitt's 2-1 win against Syracuse Saturday afternoon at Skytop Stadium.
The Panthers entered the sixth inning down one run before junior Walker Barbee blasted a two-RBI double off the wall to give Pitt the lead and the eventual win.
The victory evened the series between the Panthers and Orange, setting up a rubber match on Sunday.
In Knight's seven innings of action, the Windam, Ohio, native allowed just one hit and one run (unearned) while striking out a pair.
Offensively, the Panthers collected five hits at the plate. Barbee, senior Olivia Gray, juniors Alexee Haynes and Connor McGaffic and sophomore Hunter Levesque each collected one hit apiece in the contest.
SCORING SUMMARY
Syracuse got on the board first, scoring an unearned run following an outfield error.
Both teams went scoreless through the next four innings before Barbee used a two-RBI double to score McGaffic and freshman Sarah Seamans, giving Pitt the lead and the eventual win.
