Panthers will be Back in Action on Friday
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh softball team dropped its midweek matchup to Kent State Tuesday night at Vartabedian Field.
The Panthers deployed three pitchers on the mound in seniors Sarah Dawson and Taylor Rahach and sophomore Jess Eldridge. The trio combined to allow five earned runs (10 total runs) while striking out a pair in 5.0 innings of action.
Pitt produced two hits at the plate, with senior Gabrielle Fredericks and freshman Katlyn Pavlick recording one apiece.
SCORING SUMMARY
Kent State opened the scoring in the second frame, jumping out to a 3-0 lead via a two-RBI double and RBI-single to right field.
The Golden Flashes tacked on three more in the third inning to take a 6-0 advantage.
Kent State would then extend its lead to 10-0 in the fourth frame, leading to the eventual run-rule victory.

The Panthers will head to Syracuse, N.Y., to play a three-game ACC series against the Orange beginning Friday, April 19.
