Pitt to Unveil New Visual Identity at Pitt Program Council's Bigelow Bash Starring T-Pain April 7

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh athletic department will introduce its new marks publicly Sunday, April 7 as part of Bigelow Bash presented by the Pitt Program Council and starring T-Pain. The Reveal, the culmination of two-year collaboration with Nike Global Identity Group to rebrand Pitt Athletics, is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. on an outdoor stage between the Cathedral of Learning and William Pitt Student Union.
"Pitt people are passionate about their university and love showing their pride in numerous ways, especially by wearing Panthers gear and merchandise," Director of Athletics Heather Lyke said. "But for too long we were disjointed in our Pitt branding, whether it be our colors or logos. Now, thanks to a comprehensive study with our partner Nike, we are proud to unveil at Bigelow Bash a strong and unified visual identity. Our branding will pay homage to a proud past but with 21st century ambitions. It evokes our legends while anticipating future greatness. There is power in the Pitt brand and these colors and marks will maximize that strength for Panthers past, present and future."
The Reveal will feature a fashion show style introduction of Pitt's uniforms for the 2019-20 season across its 19 athletic programs. Current and former student-athletes will model the uniforms and select apparel on stage and there will also be video features on the development and process behind Pitt's new marks and uniforms
Following The Reveal, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony and official opening of the Nike Store at The Pitt Shop on Forbes Avenue. The Nike Store will be renovated and re-opened as a Pitt branded Nike concept shop within the Pitt Shop on Forbes Ave. It will feature all new Nike product utilizing the new athletics marks and visual identity.
"The opening of the Nike Store at The Pitt Shop will provide our fans with on-campus access to exclusive Pitt Athletics apparel and merchandise," continued Lyke. "Nike and the University have been terrific partners in planning this new store at The Pitt Shop and we are thrilled to have our sideline provider represented so prominently on campus."
Bigelow Bash: Music and Food Truck Festival starring T-Pain will also feature food trucks and performances beginning at 1 p.m. on Bigelow Boulevard. Performances include the winner of Battle of the Bands, Cities Aviv presented by WPTS Radio. The Reveal event will be followed by a musical performance by headliner T-Pain.
With 60 hit songs under his belt and two Grammy trophies on his mantle, T-Pain has cemented himself as one of the most influential artists of all-time. After a successful run of #1 hits, albums, tours and a plethora of cameo appearances, T-Pain took some time off to enjoy the fruits of his labor and perfect his craft.
In 2018, T-Pain returned and he is back and better than ever. He launched an "Everything Must Go" campaign in August to clear out his vault of unreleased music as a gift to his dedicated fans, he is currently the star of the hit television show on Fuse titled "T-Pain's School of Business", the dean of his very own university-Wiscansin University, and recently released an new album, 1UP. T-Pain is showing no signs of slowing down and has proven that he only gets better with time.
