Pitt Athletics Launches New Storytelling And Multimedia Content Initiatives Built Around Fan Connections And Access

'Beyond the Script' podcast debuts July 7 with Athletic Director Allen Greene; new video series, written features and Director of Storytelling Abby Schnable headline expansive platform built for today's fan
PITTSBURGH – Pitt fans are about to get more access than ever before. Pitt Athletics today launched new storytelling and multimedia content initiatives designed to take fans inside the programs, the people and the moments that define what it means to be a Panther, at a moment when authentic fan connection matters more than ever in college athletics.
The platform spans audio, video and written content, each pillar built around a simple idea: fans deserve more than highlights and headlines. They deserve the full story.
A STORYTELLER AT THE CENTER
Leading the initiative is Abby Schnable, who joins Pitt Athletics as Director of Storytelling & Multimedia Content. Schnable spent years covering Pitt Athletics at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reporting across football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and Olympic sports – sitting in coaches' offices, following student-athletes through their journeys and finding the stories that live beneath the surface of the box score.
Now she'll be telling those stories from the inside.
Schnable will oversee the department's long-form and multimedia storytelling initiatives, leading written features and driving content across PittsburghPanthers.com and social platforms. She also serves as Executive Producer of "Beyond the Script," the flagship podcast of the new initiative.

BEYOND THE SCRIPT PODCAST
The flagship of the new initiative, "Beyond the Script" is a long-form audio series hosted by Jason Earle that takes listeners inside Pitt Athletics with coaches, student-athletes, staff and the people shaping the direction of the program. The podcast debuts Tuesday, July 7, with Athletic Director Allen Greene as the inaugural guest, and will be available across all major streaming platforms.
VIDEO SERIES
A suite of rotating weekly video series gives fans immersive, in-depth access to the people and programs of Pitt Athletics. Each series is built to tell a distinct dimension of the student-athlete experience:
Panther Tales – Long-form storytelling that connects student-athletes to the full value of a Pitt education, spotlighting the academic achievements, athletic pursuits and community engagement made possible through Panther Club scholarship support.
Panthers All Access – An inside look at Pitt Athletics in competition, training and preparation, capturing the intensity and culture of the programs behind the scenes.
Pitt Paths – A behind-the-scenes look at student-athlete life off the field and outside the arena, highlighting academic development, career preparation and the Pitt experience beyond competition.
Roc's Rewind – A film-focused segment in which a student-athlete or coach breaks down a defining play, moment or game, offering fans a rare look inside the strategic and emotional dimensions of competition.
WRITTEN FEATURES
The initiative's written features operation publishes across PittsburghPanthers.com and social platforms, anchored by weekly sport features that go beyond the scoreboard, while offering fans behind-the-scenes access and in-depth storytelling from inside Pitt's programs throughout the year. A Sunday Sidebar column provides a consistent weekly editorial presence across the athletics department.
SPORT-SPECIFIC NIL CONTENT
The initiative also includes dedicated sport-specific, NIL-focused content series creating branded storytelling opportunities that benefit student-athletes while extending the reach and relevance of Pitt Athletics content across key audience segments.
