Panthers to Host Ball State, West Virginia at Fitzgerald Field House
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (6-7, 1-3 EAGL) will return home to Fitzgerald Field House for a tri-meet against West Virginia (13-5, 0-3 Big 12) and Ball State (3-7, 0-0 MAC) Friday at 7 p.m.
The meet will also serve as the Panther's Senior Night, in which Lucy Brett, Krista Collins, Charli Spivey and Brittany West will be recognized for their dedication to the program.

LAST TIME OUT
- Pitt earned a season-high road score of 195.100 in a quad meet against West Virginia, earning them third place overall, falling short to West Virginia and Utah State, but overcoming Cornell.
- Pitt recorded a season-high score on bars (49.025) with five Panthers earning season or career highs.
- Senior Charli Spivey led the Panthers with a floor exercise score of 9.850 while Junior Rachel Dugan and Senior Lucy Brett led the team with scores of 9.850 on bars.
SPIVEY NOMINATED FOR AAI AWARD
- Charli Spivey is one of 25 student-athletes nominated for the 2019 AAI Award, given to the nation's most outstanding senior gymnast. Spivey leads the Panthers with a 9.838 average in the floor exercise.
RANKING THE PANTHERS
- Senior Charli Spivey places second in the EAGL individual floor rankings for Week 7 with a 9.838 average.
- Sophomore Haley Brechwald is second in the league on vault with a 9.813 average.
- Pitt is second in the league on vault (48.729) and on beam (48.725).
PITT VERSUS WEST VIRGNIA
- Friday will be the 80th all-time meeting between the Panthers and Mountaineers, with West Virginia holding a 63-14-2 advantage in the series.
- Pitt is 10-25-1 all-time when competing at home against West Virginia.
- West Virginia won the last meeting between the teams, 195.575-195.100, at quad meet held by WVU on Feb. 17, 2019, where WVU placed second overall.

- The Panther's last win over Ball State came on Feb. 4th 1989.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
- Ball State (3-7, 0-0 MAC) boasts an average score of 193.821.
- Earning a season-high score last time out, the Cardinals lost at home to Northern Illinois 195.700-194.700.
- The Cardinals are ranked No. 45 overall according to RoadToNationals.com.
- Three members of the Cardinals rank highly in the MAC individual standings, with Marrisa Nychyk in second on vault (9.787), Jordyn Penny in third on beam (9.758) and fourth on vault (9.781), and Kaitlyn Menzione in fourth on floor (9.825).
