PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh swimming & diving teams will finish their 2018-19 home schedule this weekend when the Panthers host the Western Pennsylvania Invitational at Trees Pool.
Diving events will be held on Friday, Jan. 25 beginning at 1 p.m., while swimming starts on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 12 p.m. Admission is FREE for all fans.
For this year's annual Western Pennsylvania Invitational, the Panthers will host Carnegie Mellon, California (PA), Clarion, Duquesne and St. Francis (PA) for the two-day swimming & diving meet.
Before Saturday's swimming action begins, Pitt swimming & diving will honor its five seniors – all swimmers – who will compete at Trees Pool for the final time during this meet: Rachel Brown, John Fauteux, Meghan Joram, Brian Lovasik and Aaron Sett.
"I can't say enough about what these seniors have meant to our program," Pitt head coach John Hargis said. "I want to thank them for their tremendous contributions to Pitt swimming & diving. We're proud of their accomplishments both in the pool and in the classroom, and we're looking forward to honoring them on Saturday and having a great final home meet this season."
The Panthers have dominated the Western PA Invite in previous years and look to continue that form. Pitt is coming off sweeps of West Virginia and Denison earlier this month and hopes to stay undefeated for the calendar year in hosting several in-state swimming & diving programs.
