Twelve Panthers Earn All-ACC Honors at ACC Outdoor Championships

Ten of 12 All-ACC Honorees are First-Time Recipients
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Twelve Panthers earned All-ACC honors at the 2018 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, including 10 on the final day of competition, Saturday at Cobb Stadium.
The total quadrupled the amount of Pitt's honorees from the 2017 Outdoor Championships. Ten of the 12 recipients were first-time All-ACC Outdoor awardees. For the first time, Pitt earned All-ACC Outdoor awards in men's high jump, women's triple jump and women's 400m.
Eleven individuals earned All-ACC second team honors, while freshman Noah Walker was the lone Panther to land on an All-ACC first team. He placed third in men's javelin with a mark of 67.10m. Walker became the first from Pitt to earn All-ACC first team honors in javelin since Ethan Shalaway took third in 2015. Besides Shalaway, Walker is the only other Panther to earn All-ACC first team honors in javelin.

Rounding out Pitt's awardees from the 2018 ACC Outdoor Championships were Greg Lauray (men's high jump, second team) on Day 1 and Kelly Hayes (women's 3000m steeplechase, school record, second team) on Day 2.
On the women's side, Pitt made a program-best team finish of 11th place, scoring 25 points. Additionally, the men finished 11th with 41.5 points, most since scoring 43 in 2016.

- The men's 4x400m relay team of Danté Watson, Jabari Michael-Khensu, Ade Jones-Roundtree and Lonzell Feagin finished just .33 out of first place to earn a silver medal with a season-best time of 3:07.99. They tied Pitt's best finish in the event (2014, 2016).
- Jones-Roundtree and Michael-Khensu finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the men's 200m. Jones-Roundtree crossed the line in 20.71 and Michael-Khensu followed with a personal record of 20.85. Jones-Roundtree added to his All-ACC haul with a fifth-place finish and a personal record in the men's 400m (46.93).
- Two javelin throwers landed on the All-ACC second team: Grant Jones took fourth on the men's side and Carolyn Helenski placed fifth for the women. Jones threw for 65.14m and earned a second-team selection for the second time in his career, after earning fifth place in 2016. Helenski picked up a personal best mark of 41.19m. The honor is the first of her career, and she is the first to earn All-ACC honors in women's javelin since Taylor Slaney and Brooke Shasteen landed on the first and second teams, respectively, in 2015.
- Sophomore Taylor Middleton became the first Panther in program history to earn All-ACC outdoor triple jump honors with a fifth-place finish. She landed a personal record mark of 12.75m.
- Sophomore Shyheim Wright earned All-ACC honors with a fifth-place finish in the men's 110m hurdles, crossing the line in 14.27.
- Senior Desiree Garland became Pitt's first All-ACC women's outdoor 400m honoree in program history with a sixth-place finish at 53.43.
